I’ve supported public relations for one of the largest kayak and canoe manufacturers in the world. I know the paddlesports industry is filled with wonderful companies, organizations, and people who champion a truly fantastic, healthy, and green outdoor recreational activity.
However, the paddlesports industry has generally struck me as deeply fragmented and directionless in terms of promoting itself within the trade and working together to reach out to more consumers to put more butts in the boat, as they say.
Today, SportsOneSource reported an increasing spirit of cooperation within the paddlesports contingency of the broader outdoor industry and Canoe and Kayak Magazine’s announcement of a paddlesports trade show slated for 2010 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Hurrah! Good move. I can’t wait to go!
