I’ve almost completely divorced from feature-bloated desktop word processing programs like Word or Pages in favor of TextEdit, the laptop writer’s equivalent of a number 2 lead pencil. From online invoicing with Harvest to project management with Basecamp to Gmail, I’ve moved almost every aspect of my public relations agency and computing life to The Cloud. But one foot remains planted in the desktop–graphics. The Adobe suites are heavy–and pricey!–but they’re still pretty darn good at what they do.
