I was e-mailing media all morning about Atayne’s tee-shirts made out of sustainable materials, including Cocona which is a high performing fiber and yarn derived from recycled coconut shells. That’s when a friend of mine Skyped me out of the blue to tell me about a crazy video about scientists discovering how some octopus use coconut shells to build underwater houses. (Presumably the octopus’ houses have gardens.) Read the LA Times article and watch the video here. I’ve read that octopus are exceptionally smart sea critters. It’s strangely reassuring knowing that another species approves of using coconuts to make stuff.
