Today marks the official end to my ten-day holiday vacation. White Christmas it was not. I spent most of last week with family, soaking in sunshine on a decidedly snowless Florida beach.
And talking about Tiger.
Forget the healthcare bill, the tanked economy, Sarah Palin, Avatar and fiddling with your new iPhone–everyone has a take on the Tiger brouhaha.
Here’s what I heard my family and friends say about Tiger’s next move: he should go public like David Letterman did a few months ago; he should issue a sincere public apology to his sponsors and fans; he should take a year off; he should focus on golf; he should ignore the media; he should cry on Oprah; he should shut up until his family says so; he should go on Dancing with the Stars; he should go to counseling; he should give his wife all his money; and (my favorite) he should move to Nevada and become a spokesperson for Las Vegas hotels.
I overheard similar normative utterances about Tiger’s future at the airport, shopping mall, bar, Wallgreens, restaurants, and coffee shops.
I used to think everyone in the United States was a lawyer. This holiday season, we’re all public relations and crisis management experts!
